Sometimes it’s not the big things that make a moment special. Sometimes it’s simply a path through the woods. The wind on your face. The sound of tires on the ground. Friends riding alongside you. And that feeling: I’m right in the thick of it. That is exactly the feeling I’ve missed for so long.
For many years, I used my add-on drive unit to get around. It gave me mobility and independence, and for a long time, it was the best way for me to be out and about. However, as soon as a standard path gave way to more challenging terrain, I quickly hit its limits. Breakdowns, repairs, and the constant worry of whether the device would make it through the next stretch were, unfortunately, part of the experience. That wasn’t what freedom felt like.
Then came the RESET Ranger.
With the RESET Ranger, something fundamental has changed for me. For the first time, I feel like the bike isn’t working against me, but with me. That might sound like a small difference. For me, it’s a huge one.
The Ranger gives me a sense of security and stability—and, above all, confidence. Even on trails where I might have hesitated in the past. I can focus on the bike instead of constantly worrying about what could go wrong. And suddenly, a challenging trail turns into an adventure.
More than just a bike
For me, the RESET Ranger is therefore much more than just a downhill bike. It represents freedom. It represents adventure. And for me, it represents a better quality of life.
Riding through the woods again. Trying out new trails. Clocking up the elevation gain. Being outdoors. Heading out with friends and sharing an experience. It is precisely these moments that stay with you.
Moments when the disability is not the focus for a brief instant. Moments not about what doesn’t work, but about what is possible.
Being outdoors together
What I love most about mountain biking is the community.
Whether or not someone has a disability, what ultimately matters is being outdoors together, having fun, and experiencing something. I hope that many more people with disabilities will be able to have exactly this experience.
After all, everyone should have the opportunity to discover new paths. Everyone should be able to experience the feeling of riding through the forest and simply being part of the community. Not standing on the sidelines. Not just watching. But riding along.
My personal game-changer
The RESET Ranger has changed my perspective on what is possible. Of course, not every path is suddenly easy. But I have regained something incredibly valuable: confidence in my own capabilities.
I set off without always knowing what lies around the next bend. But that is precisely the beauty of it. For to me, freedom doesn’t mean the absence of obstacles; freedom means being able to set out on the journey.
